The Essex Family Day Classic Tournament wrapped up an exciting weekend of competition, bringing together teams and families for a celebration of minor hockey and community spirit.
Across four age divisions, players showcased tremendous skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Our very own U9 Essex Ravens Sky Blue team took the championship over the very competitive Ilderton Jets White team, in a 4-1 win.
In the U11 division the Lake Erie North Star Yellow team was a powerhouse scoring 10 goals to beat the Essex Ravens Purple team 10-0.
The U13 St. Thomas Stars Black came out with the win in a very close and evenly matched game against Windsor Jr. Spitfires White. They squeezed out a 2-1 win for the championship.
A team from the northern region of Ontario travel all the way from Sault Ste Marie to compete in the U15 division. They went undefeated all weekend and ended up in the finals against a local team, the Southpoint Capitals Blue. The championship game was a great game played by both teams. The Sault team came out on top with a 6-1 win.
With thrilling games and unforgettable moments, this year’s tournament was a tremendous success. Congratulations to all participating teams, volunteers, and organizers who made the weekend such a memorable event for everyone involved.
